I held a long-term DEGEN/USDT futures position on Weex. I wasn't actively trading. This was a long-term hold and I checked the account infrequently. On April 27, 2026 at 3:19 AM, Weex's system closed my position without any action on my part. My order history explicitly labels it as a 'System order.'

Here's what makes this egregious:

1. Their own announcement contradicts what happened. The delisting announcement states 'your account assets will not be affected.' My account lost $4,273.6965. They later reinterpreted this statement after the fact to protect themselves.

2. No notification of any kind received. Weex claims push notifications are their standard channel. I received none. More importantly, they had my email address and used it throughout my dispute. They never sent a single email warning about a delisting that would forcibly close my position. For a long-term holder who doesn't log in daily, email is the only reliable alert channel. They chose not to use it.

3. They closed my position 10 hours ahead of their own stated schedule. Position opening suspension was announced for 1:00 PM UTC+8. My position was closed at 3:00 AM UTC+8 — 10 hours earlier with no explanation.

4. They denied compensation after weeks of correspondence. Every explanation they gave contradicted their own records, their own announcement language, and their own agents' prior statements.

5. They ignored a formal final demand entirely. I issued a final demand with a 5-day response window. Weex did not respond. At all.

This is not just about $4,273. This is about an unregulated exchange that operates behind a polished facade while taking zero accountability for the impact of their system decisions on real people's funds. This is not the first time Weex has caused user losses through platform issues and refused ownership.

i know this is going to annoy some people, but most crypto cards still do not feel like real crypto adoption to me.

they feel like off ramps with better branding.

you hold crypto, then somewhere in the middle it still becomes fiat, touches a card network, and gets spent through the same old rails. maybe the app looks more modern. maybe the rewards are different. maybe the card has a nicer name.

but from the user side, a lot of it still feels like a debit card with extra steps.

sell this, top up that, check which country is supported, hope the merchant accepts the card, hope the card does not get declined because it looks prepaid, then later figure out what fees or spread you actually paid.

i am not saying these cards are useless. honestly, some of them are very useful.

if you get paid in stables, travel a lot, or keep money across different wallets and exchanges, having a card layer can be way less annoying than doing the full exchange to bank to card dance every time.

but i think we oversell what this is.

a crypto card that lets me buy coffee is not automatically mainstream adoption. it might just be a cleaner way to exit into regular payment rails.

and maybe that is fine.

maybe the real value is not ideological at all.

maybe the whole point is just reducing the number of stupid steps between on chain money and boring bills.

i have been comparing a few options lately. coinbase card, crypto com, nexo, redotpay, buvei, plus the normal bank and wise route. every single one has some annoying tradeoff.

exchange cards are convenient, but you are tied to that exchange.

bank withdrawals feel safer, but they are slow.

virtual card setups are flexible, but merchant acceptance can get weird.regular credit cards are still easiest, but they do not solve anything if the money starts on chain.

Background:

I earned large amount of USDT in a country where crypto is illegal. All of this was earned and I went through full KYC on Binance. I have complete transaction history.

Until and unless I trade crypto in this country I don’t think I will be in any problem. So I want to convert this crypto into cash and deposit into my bank account.

Questions I need help with:

- Has anyone successfully converted crypto and received funds via SWIFT remittance by going in another country where it’s legal? What did you tell your bank?

- Which countries have the cleanest process for a one-time large conversion as a tourist?

- Are there any exchanges that will directly wire to my bank account from a remote USDT deposit?

- What documentation should I prepare to show my bank on receipt in my home country?

Changelly's currency exchange is a scam. They're willing to offer lower exchange rates for small amounts. But when you increase your amount, they freeze your funds and use KYC (Know Your Customer) as an excuse to keep asking you to submit information repeatedly.

Changelly is always hiding the most crucial part of the refund process. Their KYC requirements exceed legal standards. All assessment criteria are determined by themselves. No one can complete and immediately refund your money.

Hi! I know uneducated people like myself probably stop in here and ask all the time, whats a good starting point for buying crypto? I know ill never get into something good like bitcoin, but I would like to buy a few coins, and just let them sit for a couple of years, like a low interest CD. My Coinbase wallet stopped communicating with any Apps (including Coinbase) about 3 weeks ago. All I have gotten from Coinbase is empty promises about ‘escalating this to our Engineering team’. I can see my assets, and access the wallet, but smart contracts cannot settle and assets cannot be transferred to other wallets or DEXs. My investments have stalled and I am now making losses because I can’t move assets. Is this a theme with Coinbase wallets? Is complaining to the ombudsman my only solution?

I am a tax resident of Thailand, staying in the country for more than 183 days per year.

I understand that Thailand follows a remittance-based taxation system. My question is: if I transfer Bitcoin or Ethereum from a foreign exchange (such as Bybit) to a Thai exchange (such as Binance TH), will this transfer be subject to Thai income tax?

I would like to clarify if the act of moving crypto between wallets is considered "taxable remittance" even before it is sold for Thai Baht.

My understanding is as follows: Since transferring cryptocurrency is merely a "movement of assets," simply sending Bitcoin from one wallet to another should not trigger any tax liability.

However, I have another concern. Where did the funds used to purchase that cryptocurrency come from in the first place?

Was it from taxable income, or from funds that have already been taxed? If the Thai Revenue Department questions the source of these funds, how am I supposed to prove it? Does anyone even have the means to provide such proof? How are others handling this situation?

Why the CLARITY Act Quietly Makes Ethereum the Biggest Winner in Crypto

EDIT: Cardano, Avalanche, and Algorand were left off the chart. They have decent decentralization cases, but legal classification is only one filter. ETH DeFi TVL is in the hundreds of billions and ETH is highly liquid and accessible via ETFs and orther derivatives like treasuries. The others sit at $1-2B or below, lower liquidity, and no ETFs or treasuries. Also, developer activity and institutional adoption track the same gap. The legal test matters, but it doesn't matter alone. Look at how Ethereum DeFi and institutional metrics have grown over the past couple of years and compare that to each of those networks.

Coin in question is 2 weeks old and beside the first 2 days it im goes up like once a day then levels of with super small jumps up and down then jumps again a day later making the chart look exactly like staircase trending up. New version of the clarity act has been released today... people don’t realize how disruptive yield-bearing stablecoins could have been for traditional banks.

Blockchain basically made it techniclaly possible for regular users to hold digital dollars that are:

• fully liquid
• transferable 24/7
• globally accessible
• and backed by short-term US Treasuries generating ca4–5% yield

In practice, this could’ve turned stablecoins into something like a global high-yield checking account.

For the first time, average people couldve directly benefited from Treasury yields instead of banks capturing most of the upside to fund their skyscrapers and bonusses.

And thats exactly why regulators and banks pushed back so hard.

The compromise basically says:
“You can use stablecoins for payments...but they shouldnt compete with bank deposits.”

Everyone keeps brushing off the idea of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) ever selling Bitcoin, but Saylor’s recent comments during the Q1 2026 earnings call highlighted a structural nuance that’s worth discussing.

The big story isn’t the $12.54B unrealized loss — unrealized losses don’t force liquidation. What stood out was Saylor openly acknowledging that selling BTC is at least possible now because of the structure behind their STRC preferred shares and the roughly $1.5B/year dividend obligations tied to them.

I still don’t think a major sale is likely anytime soon (Saylor has repeatedly said they won’t be net sellers), but the fact that it’s no longer treated as completely impossible feels important.

I will not drop ANY coin names, but back in November I was told by a friend to buy a shitcoin tied to this creator because he was up so much. I bought it but my dumbass held it like a stock because that's all I'm familiar with. After I lost about $100 on that coin, I pulled out and stopped doing crypto.

Fast forward to now, I still have the apps Phantom and Moonshot on my phone and keep getting notifications about certain coins shooting 4x-10x in within a day/week. My stock portfolio is doing INCREDIBLY well so I'm looking to take risks. If I'm being COMPLETELY honest, this is FOMO for me. I see high returns and really want to get back into it, but I've heard there's a catch once you sell it? Some kind of crypto charge, I'm still not fully educated on the topic.

But my true question: do people actually make money off of shitcoins? And should I try my luck?

Been pretty deep into crypto/markets for a while now and honestly one thing I feel is missing these days is actual community.

Most spaces now feel either:
- engagement farming
- nonstop shilling
- influencer culture
- or just people screaming price predictions at each other all day ????

Been trading since 2017, went full time in 2021. And before anyone asks, no, I didn't quit my job on a whim with 10k in savings. Built a cushion first that meant a red month wouldn't make me panic-sell at the bottom. Writing this because I'm tired of the "woke up, made 5 figures, beach by noon" content.

6:40 AM. Alarm.

Not because I'm disciplined. Because Asia session is closing and that's where liquidity gets parked before EU open drags it somewhere. Coffee, phone, check if I got stopped overnight. Today I didn't. Plenty of times I did.

7:00-9:00. Position check. Currently long ETH average 3420, smaller short SOL hedge, couple alt bags I've been sitting on for weeks. Funding on Bybit, OI on majors, liq heatmaps, update levels in TV. That's it. No secret indicator.

9:00-11:00. The window where I actually do work. London open brings real flow and if I have a planned setup, I take it. If I don't, I don't trade. Took me four years to learn that. Sitting on your hands while the screen flashes green and red feels physically wrong, like your body is telling you to do something, anything, just to participate.

11:00-15:00. Dead zone.

Between London lunch and NY open the tape goes mostly nowhere except for the occasional liquidity hunt that punishes anyone who got bored and clicked. I nap sometimes. Actually nap. Read macro stuff if Powell or someone is making noise. Or just stare at the wall.

When I need to switch the brain off without leaving the desk I'll play chess on lichess or mess around on dustbіt for a bit. Not rest exactly, more like cycling the engine so the candles look fresh again when I come back.

15:30. NY open. If there's CPI, FOMC, NFP dropping, I'm in cash or running half size. I've donated enough to the casino trying to guess direction on news prints.

18:00-22:00. Most of my closed trades this year happened in this window. I shut the laptop when I've either taken the plan or it's obvious there isn't one tonight.

What the highlight reels skip:

Isolation. I haven't spoken to a real human in person today. Wasn't different yesterday. Wife is at the office, friends are on a 9-to-5 schedule, our timezones don't really overlap during the week. Discord isn't social life, it's just noise with avatars.

Financial anxiety doesn't go away when you're up. Up 18% on the month? Now you're terrified to give it back. Down 7%? You're convinced this is the start of the streak that ends you.

Nobody builds your day for you. Nobody says good job. Nobody fires you. You can quietly degrade for six months and only notice when you finally look at PnL and realize you've been bleeding.

Health stuff nobody warns you about. Back, eyes, sleep. I started the gym not for aesthetics but because otherwise I'd be a wreck by 40.

Tbh, if I were starting today, I'd grind a job until the leap feels boring instead of brave. Full-time trading isn't freedom. It's a different job with the same problems and a few new ones bolted on.

Oviosu said the roadmap could allow Paga users to hold interest-bearing dollar balances, convert between local currency and cryptocurrencies with minimal friction, invest in previously inaccessible assets, and send money across borders “as easily and at minimal cost as an email.”

Paga's move marks the continuation of a shift among African fintechs toward exploring blockchain for global settlement, treasury, and payments. In October 2025, Flutterwave partnered with Polygon to build a stablecoin-based payment infrastructure, while another Nigerian payments giant, Paystack, reorganized into The Stack Group to further research emerging technologies.

The stablecoin will be issued by Bridge, the US crypto infrastructure company acquired by Stripe for $1.1 billion in 2025.

It's official: The so-called Monero "DEX" (which was in reality very centralized), has officially rugged its users. XMR1 swap routes have been down for more than a week and the founder who went by "Perpetual Cow" has completely vanished.

I used an app called KAST for Bitcoin. During setup, they connected me to a bank account through Lead Bank. I transferred money from my Chase account into that Lead Bank account, and Chase shows the transfer was completed.

Right after the money was sent, KAST banned my account. Now I can’t access the app or the funds.

KAST’s own policy says they are responsible for refunding any unused money, but when I contacted them, they claimed they never received the money. Chase told me there isn’t much they can do because the receiving account already accepted the transfer.

The confusing part is that I don’t know if the Lead Bank account is legally mine, since it was opened through KAST, or if KAST controls it behind the scenes.

Has anyone dealt with KAST, Lead Bank, or a fintech app doing this? What should I do next?

It has been four years since Luna fell from what was essentially an all time high of $119 to basically $0. Were you or others you know personally impacted by this. If so, what was going through your head when you seen the crash occurring in real time. Did you sell in time or did you hold your crypto, believing it could go back up?

Personally, what was the biggest kick in the nuts was the fact that a new coin was created (Terra 2.0) tricking people into believing that they could recover their lost funds by buying this coin and pumping it.

I see a lot of frustration around surprise KYC on crypto casinos. This is the case when a site is marketed as “no KYC” and then asks for ID right when you try to withdraw. After running into this a few times, I went back and started checking how it works.

The short version: “no KYC” just means not upfront; not never.
Why “no KYC” can be misleading
Most crypto casinos (especially Curaçao-licensed ones) include a clause in their terms that says they can request verification at any time. So even if the homepage says “no KYC,” the terms often say otherwise.

Common KYC triggers (from what I’ve seen)

These seem to come up the most:
Larger withdrawals (often somewhere in the $2k–$10k)
Unusual betting patterns
Bonus-related flags
First withdrawal on a new account
Using different wallet addresses for deposit/withdrawal
What they often ask for

When it happens, it’s fairly standard:
Government-issued ID
Proof of address (utility bill, etc.)
Sometimes a selfie holding the ID
For larger amounts, occasionally source of funds
How long it takes
This is where delays come in. Once KYC is triggered, withdrawals pause until it’s completed. From experience, this can take anywhere from 6–72 hours, sometimes longer depending on the KYC team.

Jurisdiction matters more than people think
Some countries seem to trigger stricter checks. If your region is listed as restricted or higher-risk in their terms, KYC can happen regardless of withdrawal size.
If you’re trying to avoid surprises

A few things that seem to reduce the chances:
Keeping withdrawals smaller
Not jumping between bonuses
Using the same wallet
Checking the terms before playing (especially the KYC section)

For me, it’s not about being pro or anti-KYC, but not being caught off guard by it.

If a site is honest about when verification might happen, it’s easier to plan around.

When I select Trocador and press SWAP button, it automatically switches to Exolis on the next screen w/ lower rates. It's also set to Best Rate in settings and it's recommending Exolis over other options with better rates. FHFA Director Bill Pulte just ordered Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to start counting crypto as a mortgage asset and like, yeah congrats to the five people who actually have meaningful crypto holdings for down payments but also congrats to taxpayers who are now bagholding whatever dumpster fire gets originated when someone qualifies for a half-million dollar mortgage based on ethereum they bought at peak hype.

Senate Democrats including Durbin, Warren, and Merkley sent a letter saying “Crypto-backed mortgages, launched without any pilot, opportunity for public input, or public research into default risk, flaunt this duty.”

Crypto is subject to heightened risks of loss due to scams, cyber hacks, or physical theft, which could leave homeowners vulnerable to losing their crypto assets with little hope of recovery.

here’s the thing that absolutely sendddss me! Fannie Mae previously found that the use of cryptocurrency for deposits, payments, or collateral was among the “least appealing application” of blockchain but still ran with this anyways, citing crypto volatility as a key potential barrier.

so the same company that said “yo this is dumb” is now like “actually let’s securitize this and sell it to pension funds.” and you know what happens next right? these mortgages get bundled into mortgage-backed securities. hedge funds will buy them, not for the reason you think…. Or maybe you can predict… rating agencies slap AAA on them because the collateral is “diversified crypto assets.”

then 2028 rolls around, the market realizes nobody actually wanted to tie a half-million dollar asset to something that moves 20% on Elon’s tweets, and suddenly your 401(k) is bleeding because MBS tranches are full of loans where the down payment evaporated. A major Solana perps platform got exploited in April. Their recovery plan? Tokenized IOUs on a pool that might eventually cover losses. Users wait years hoping for payouts from future revenue.

The irony is that protocols designed to remove intermediaries asking users to trust long-term promises.
Meanwhile the largest custody banks are launching digital asset services in offshore hubs.

Not retail products just straight up institutional infrastructure.
Funding sentiment has been bearish for over two months straight while traditional finance quietly builds parallel on-ramps.

Amazon’s spinning up payment rails so AI agents can book hotels and buy APIs while Coinbase cuts 700 jobs because one guy with AI might be able to ship what used to take a whole team.

The Altseason never came and the same old played out coins are hyped while everyone ignores new technology.

The crypto natives who built the foundation are being labelled obsolete in favor of AI slop. Institutionalised AI agent are about to have better access to stablecoins than the average crypto bro.

DeFi isn’t dead, it’s just that the people building it are getting fired and replaced by AI agents who’ll apparently use it better than humans ever did.

To make a long story short, I bought two SafePal S1 Wallets last year. Yesterday I got a call from a person claiming to be from SafePal. At first, I denied having purchased any SafePal products before, assuming it's a scam. Then, they told me my full name and home address and my exact order details. They knew how many and which products I bought and the exact payment method I used.

Upon checking my email, I saw that they had sent an email outlining details to update my firmware as well. That email, too, included my exact order information and home address.

When I asked SafePal about whether or not they had been made aware of any breach, they simply said that they're not responsible for such issues because "as a decentralized wallet", they don't store any data and that it "may have been because of a partner having been compromised).
I was like, is this a joke? How can they not store data when they take physical orders and payments through their own entity, SafePal LTD??

It is completely unacceptable and unprofessional for a hardware wallet company to not take any kind of responsibility for their customers' entire data being exposed.

They didn't even inform any users even after I made it clear to them multiple times that potentially thousands of customers' data had been compromised. This is complete and utter negligence.

Never buy SafePal products.

The vast majority of major altcoins have broken out of this year's sideways range. Solana, however, is sitting about 10% behind the broader crypto market.

The main reason SOL has failed to keep up is BlackRock's decision to pass on launching an ETF for this particular altcoin. The Solana network isn't compatible with Ethereum, while most other altcoin blockchains run on the EVM.

According to Cryptomus analysts, the arrival of Monad and Sei V2 in 2026 — both supporting Parallel EVM — strips Solana of its main competitive edge: transaction speed. DeFiLlama data suggests crypto investors are drawing the same conclusion. Ethereum's TVL is 12 times higher than the $5.7 billion currently locked on the Solana blockchain.

Sei's developers argue that the continued growth of stablecoins will make blockchain incompatibility an even bigger headache, leading to liquidity fragmentation across ecosystems. Bridges won't fix that problem either — trust in them has taken a real hit after a string of recent exploits.

All of this could leave Solana on the sidelines of the stablecoin mainstream, ceding ground to Tron. That blockchain already occasionally beats Ethereum in terms of the volume of USDT tokens issued on it.

I didn’t think much about network fees when I first started using crypto casinos. Then I paid more in fees than I expected on a couple of transactions and it started adding up faster than I thought. It’s not complicated once you notice it, but it’s one of those things that’s easy to ignore at the start.

One of the first things I didn’t understand was who in fact pays the fee. When you deposit, you are the one covering the network cost to send funds. On withdrawals, sometimes the casino covers it, sometimes they pass it on, and sometimes it’s a flat fee regardless of the network. It’s not always obvious until you check the terms.

The network you use also makes a big difference. BTC can be anywhere from a few dollars to much higher depending on congestion. ETH can spike even more at times. On the other hand, something like USDT on Tron or LTC stays low and predictable. After a few transactions, that difference becomes noticeable.

Where it caught me off guard was with smaller balances. If a casino has a $50 minimum withdrawal and you’ve got above that, a fee can bring you below the threshold or leave you with less than expected. It doesn't seem like much until you run into it.

The biggest mistake I made early on was sending funds on the wrong network. Same token, different network and it doesn't go where you expect. In most cases, there’s no easy recovery from that, so now I double check before sending anything. Another thing I have adjusted is how often I withdraw. If a platform charges per withdrawal, doing multiple small ones ends up costing more than doing a big one.

These days, I stick with lower fee networks unless there’s a reason not to. Across different platforms, the main difference I’ve noticed isn't just the fee itself, it’s how it's explained. The clearer it is, the easier you understand what you’ll be charged and avoid nasty surprises in the long run.

When I got into crypto in 2017, the thesis was that this technology would change everything.

Government-issued currencies would be replaced by decentralized ones. Blockchains would eliminate the rent-seeking intermediaries that sit between every transaction. Power would shift from corporations to users.

Almost none of that happened. But something else did.

I've now spent eight years across four crypto companies, watched the asset class grow from sub-$1 billion to over $4 trillion, lived through multiple speculative bubbles and one systemic near-collapse, and what I think is actually getting built turned out to be more interesting than what we initially predicted.

Before I start at company number five, I wanted to write down what I've witnessed. And where I think it's going next.

False profit (ICO mania 2017-18)

In early 2017, I stumbled across an explanation of Bitcoin in a book I was reading, and got hooked from there. Before long, I read every book I could and cooked up a plan to travel to Singapore to write a blog about this new technology I was enamored with.

While I didn’t know it at the time, this was towards the tail end of a massive speculative bubble around “ICOs” (initial coin offering). ICOs let anyone crowd fund an idea online, by selling a digital token to investors.

Ethereum was the network where this all took place.

In November of 2017, I published a layman’s guide to Ethereum that went viral on r/ethereum. This would end up being the peak of the bubble, which popped about one month later.

Today, the post reads as more of a time capsule, summing up the optimism of the time, while predicting a future that would not come to pass.

What it predicted

The main thesis was that blockchain networks like Ethereum could be used to build new kinds of consumer applications.

Where the value generated by most consumer apps (Facebook, Uber, etc) went to big corporations and a small number of investors, the value generated by these apps would be shared collectively with their early participants (and ICO investors).

The post laid out how Ethereum could be used to build a “decentralized uber.” One where early users and drivers would earn tokens for every ride, granting ownership in the network. This would more equitably reward the early believers who helped bootstrap it.

While an admirable goal on paper, this decentralized revolution would fall flat on its face.

What actually happened

A 2001 dotcom-style speculative bubble.

Ethereum proved to be the most effective crowd-funding platform ever created. More than 3,000 ICO projects raised a collective $22 billion from investors around the world.

But as in 2001, the underlying technology was too immature to support the use cases that were being given nosebleed valuations.

Even worse, ICOs betrayed the incentive structure that typically exists between investors and builders. Builders could raise $10M overnight with nothing more than an idea. All investors got in return were tokens that were supposed to accrue value once the project got built. But builders also kept tokens they could sell from day one and get rich, thus killing any incentive to build something useful.

Founders and early investors got stupidly rich on the way up, while less sophisticated investors got burned on the way down. While there were many builders with good intentions, ICOs unfortunately became a haven for greed, grift, and fraud.

Same as every speculative bubble going back hundreds of years.

Building in the wreckage (Circle 2018-19)

Growing poorer by the day, I used my modicum of Reddit fame to get an entry level marketing job at Circle in early 2018.

At the time, Circle was a 4 year old company. They had a suite of unprofitable consumer applications (invest, pay, exchange), and an OTC trading desk that quietly printed money and kept the lights on.

The industry would spend the next two years wandering through the desert hungover from the ICO mania. Most ICO projects were abandoned. Most tokens trended towards zero. Vibes were atrocious.

However, this is when the seeds of crypto’s next revival would be planted.

One less focused on consumer applications, more on reinventing finance over the internet.

Dollar-backed "stablecoins" were originally built to let traders easily move in and out of crypto positions. They held their value at $1 by being backed 1-to-1 by dollars and treasuries.

Tether’s $USDT initially flourished during the ICO mania, with its dollar reserves ballooning in bank accounts held outside the United States. While adoption started with trading, stablecoins proved useful for people who wanted to hold dollars, but couldn’t get access through the banking system.

Like people trying to escape capital controls. Wealthy Chinese diversifying out of China. Argentinians and Turks fleeing inflation.

In 2018, Circle built and launched a regulated US version in collaboration with Coinbase: $USDC. Early activity was dominated by trading, but it was theorized that these new internet dollars could bring dollar access to anyone with an internet connection, 24/7.

Meanwhile, the enduring projects from the ICO era were mostly financial. Just as Ethereum proved useful for fundraising, it could be used to rebuild other building blocks of financial markets. Protocols for trading (Uniswap), lending and borrowing (Aave & Compound) came to be known as decentralized finance, or DeFi.

Stablecoins and DeFi would merge. And oddly enough, be launched into the stratosphere by a once-in-a-hundred-year pandemic.

Return of the internet Wild West (Messari 2019-2021)

In the tail end of 2019, I joined a 13 person data and research start-up called Messari as their first full time marketing hire.

The company had a team of 4 analysts producing bleeding edge research on DeFi, which had grown to $665 million in value.

Then in early 2020, a strange virus came out of China threatening to shut down the global economy. All markets tanked.

In response, central banks pumped trillions into the global economy to keep it from collapsing. $9 trillion by the end of 2020 alone.

All of this money needed a place to go, and with everyone stuck at home, much of it found its way into Bitcoin, Ethereum, DeFi, and all kinds of speculative investments.

Bitcoin would rally from under $4,000 to nearly $70,000, hitting a trillion dollar market cap on the backs of institutional investors, outperforming macro assets like gold.

These conditions also led to what's remembered as DeFi summer, where value in DeFi protocols ran up 250x to $180 billion.

DeFi was supposed to rebuild traditional finance. DeFi summer looked more like a massive online game played by mercenary traders with billions of real (internet) dollars on the line.

The name of the game: yield farming. Anonymous developers would launch new protocols, mostly themed around food for some reason. YAM Finance. Spaghetti Money. SushiSwap. Traders would deposit existing tokens (ETH, USDC, USDT) and earn newly minted ones. $YAM, $SPAGHETTI, $SUSHI.

It was both ridiculous and astounding to watch. Protocols would launch, and newly created food tokens would hit $1B market caps in a matter of days. Then early entrants would dump their positions, sending the tokens crashing down.

It was the true internet wild west.

Like the ICO mania before it, DeFi summer minted millionaires before eventually collapsing under its own weight. It also minted one billionaire by the name of Sam Bankman Fried, who would be at the center of crypto’s next calamity.

At the top (Coinbase 2021)

Shortly after Coinbase's $100B IPO in April 2021, I got recruited to join their Corporate Development and Venture team.

My job was to sit with the people buying companies and investing in early stage crypto startups, and write about industry themes and produce the short lived Coinbase podcast.

This was also the time when a second speculative bubble around digital pieces of art called NFTs was forming.

Where DeFi was the domain of sophisticated traders, NFTs appealed more to everyday people. It provided a new way for artists to monetize their work online, and showed promise for creating a new standard around property rights online.

But like ICOs and DeFi summer, NFT speculation quickly got out of hand. Digital pictures of cartoon monkeys, “punks”, and penguins started selling for $1M a piece. A collage of images by an artist named Beeple sold at Christies for an absurd $69 million.

Crypto was everywhere. Larry David mocked crypto skeptics in a Super Bowl commercial. Sam Bankman-Fried’s exchange, FTX, bought the naming rights to the Miami Heat stadium for $135 million. Everyone was getting rich on tokens, NFTs, and equities.

It was the insanity of 2017, juiced by record levels of money printing, that created a bubble nearly 4x the size.

The reckoning (2022)

But soon, the wheels would fall off.

The rate cuts, money printing, and stimulus that sent all asset prices soaring eventually seeped into the price of consumer goods. $BTC, $ETH, the NASDAQ, and the S&P all peaked at the tail end of 2021, the moment it became clear inflation wasn't under control and central banks would have to unwind the same policies that propelled stocks and crypto to historic highs in the first place.

Next, a $10 billion hedge fund called Three Arrows Capital, exposed to Terra and overleveraged across the industry, blew up. They borrowed heavily from crypto lenders Celsius and Voyager. These firms were lending out customer crypto deposits to chase "safe" 8% yields. When Three Arrows blew up, lenders froze withdrawals and filed for bankruptcy, taking retail deposits with them.

At Coinbase, we watched FTX and Sam Bankman-Fried swoop in to bail out other failed crypto lenders like BlockFi. He was celebrated as “crypto’s JP Morgan.” The industry’s white knight.

But it turned out, SBF and FTX were the most exposed of all.

Remember when I said FTX bought the Miami Heat stadium naming rights? That purchase, and the entire SBF empire were propped up by a token FTX printed out of thin air: $FTT. SBF had taken out massive loans using $FTT as collateral. When the price of $FTT collapsed, those loans got called back, and FTX was bankrupt.

Worst of all, FTX had been using customer deposits to make investments and plug various holes. The company, once valued at $32 billion, collapsed in a week, with $8 billion in customer deposits gone.

SBF had violated the cardinal rule of running an exchange. Don't touch the customer's money.

It was crypto’s Lehman moment.

Campaigns and casinos (2023-25)

In the wake of the FTX collapse, SBF went to jail as the crypto market fell from $3 trillion to under $1 trillion in 12 months.

Next, the Biden administration moved to kill the industry in the US.

Gary Gensler's SEC sued most of the legitimate companies in the country for securities violations. Coinbase, Kraken, Uniswap, and Robinhood all received enforcement notices. The companies that had spent years trying to operate legally were now the SEC's primary targets.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Warren quietly pressured banks to drop their crypto clients, choking them off from the banking system and chasing teams offshore.

This approach had a few unintended consequences.

First, launching anything in crypto with a business model (e.g. DeFi) was deemed a security and could get you sued. So the most legally safe thing to launch became a “memecoin,” or a token with no stated purpose. Millions were launched on a platform called Pump.fun. Iggy Azalea, Caitlyn Jenner, and the Hawk Tuah girl all launched their own memecoins. All disasters.

Crypto had another casino, this one bigger than the last. Over 6 million memecoins launched. The sector peaked at $150 billion in late 2024, surpassing even the NFT bubble in dollar terms.

Second, the industry mobilized politically for the first time. The biggest companies poured tens of millions into pro-crypto PACs and got organized in Washington.

Third, Donald Trump saw an opening. By promising to fire Gensler, end the banking hostility, and make the US the "crypto capital of the world," he turned the newly mobilized industry into a campaign asset. Many credit the crypto vote with helping him win.

Then, three days before his inauguration, Trump launched a memecoin: $TRUMP. And so did his wife: $MELANIA.

It remains the dumbest thing I've seen in eight years. Ironically, $TRUMP marked the end of the memecoin bubble, as it sucked the oxygen out of everything else, preceding a collapse of the memecoin market.

Going corporate (Crossmint 2025-26)

That embarrassment aside, the industry’s gamble on Trump still paid off.

Bitcoin hit new highs when it became clear Trump would win. Markets priced in the world's biggest economy flipping from hostile to friendly. Gensler resigned. The new SEC dropped its cases against US crypto companies. Banks could touch crypto again. And most importantly, the GENIUS Act passed in July 2025: the first major US federal crypto legislation, establishing clear rules for stablecoins.

The message from Washington to institutions was clear: crypto, and particularly stablecoins, were about to be big business. Stablecoin companies like Bridge and BVNK got scooped up by Stripe and Mastercard at $1B+ valuations. Rain raised a ~$2B Series C. Circle, my alma mater and the company behind $USDC, IPO’d and hit a peak valuation of $60 billion in June 2025.

By this time, I was the head of marketing at Crossmint, and we inked a deal with MoneyGram to help the 100-year-old remittance giant move money cross-border using stablecoins.

As the benefits of "tokenizing" the dollar became clear, Wall Street got serious about tokenizing other assets. Even Larry Fink, who had once dismissed Bitcoin as an "index for money laundering," changed his tune. The CEO of $14 trillion BlackRock now called tokenization "the next generation for markets," predicting every stock, bond, and asset class would eventually live on a blockchain.

The revolution we got (present day)

8 years after my initial reddit post, we still don’t have decentralized Uber.

Blockchains didn’t eliminate all intermediaries, and fully decentralized currencies didn’t replace government issued money.

But I think in time, the period covered above will be remembered as the early chaotic days of a new internet-based financial system. Every boom and bust hardened infrastructure that can rewire global finance and bring it to anyone with an internet connection.

ICOs proved companies can raise funding from anyone in the world. DeFi proved trading, lending, and borrowing can run purely on code. NFTs built a foundation for internet-based property rights. Even memecoins, the dumbest of the cycles, proved these rails could handle massive global volume.

Swap in equities, bonds, and non-fungible assets like real estate, sprinkle in some regulatory clarity, and watch the rest of finance follow.

Critics can still try and handwave all of this away, but the stablecoin data is the most irrefutable of all.

The current stablecoin supply of $300B+ settled $33 trillion in volume in 2025. This year, they've already settled over $40 trillion and are on pace to hit $100 trillion.

Skeptics will point out that much of that is crypto trading and bot activity. Fair enough. But the scale is there, and the US government is telling you where the puck is going.

A tricky but important point to understand: stablecoins are backed by US treasuries, which is the debt the US government sells to finance itself. So every stablecoin issued creates new demand for US debt, at a time when the US government needs it the most. For these reasons, the Treasury Secretary has already named stablecoin growth as a US strategic priority.

Not the cypherpunk dream. But upgrading the dollar for the internet age, and bringing financial services to anyone with a smartphone, is still a hell of a thing to build.

What comes next

AI is transforming everything under the sun, and crypto is no different.

The marriage of crypto and AI is already underway, and millions of AI agents will soon transact in the real world. They’ll use stablecoin-backed cards to interact with every merchant in 200+ countries. And they’ll use crypto wallets and stablecoins to transact directly with one another.

Agents that do our shopping, handle our finances, and transact on behalf of entire corporations feels like a safe bet. Further out, we’ll see purely agentic businesses that operate without humans in the loop. Think of a hedge fund that reads every filing, builds its own models, and trades on them, with no analyst or PM in sight.

As this sci-fi future gets built, crypto will go fully mainstream by fusing with the old system rather than replacing it. The backends will be crypto. The frontends will look exactly like what people already use. Most won't even know.

Institutions will swap out decades-old infrastructure. Startups will launch global financial products with unprecedented speed and reach. The net result is a financial system that runs 24/7 and works the same for someone in Nigeria as it does in New York. From there, the next million innovations follow.

We'll see if these predictions look as bad in eight years as my initial post does today.

Either way, I start my fifth job in crypto next week.

Pompliano got on the Consensus Mainstage yesterday and said “BlackRock is now a bitcoin company” with the energy of someone announcing a victory and not a complete reversal of everything he spent five years posting about

This is the same guy whose entire brand was built on the idea that Wall Street was the problem and Bitcoin was the escape hatch, I guess he was some sort of tradfi sleeper agent

BlackRock now holds more Bitcoin than most sovereign wealth funds and Pompliano is on stage in Miami treating that like the ending of a good movie depending on your stance maybe.. it is…But it’s worth pausing to notice that the hero of the decentralization story just handed the trophy to the largest asset manager in human history and the crowd cheered.

Then we have our boy Tom Zschach, former chief innovation officer at SWIFT, which is to say he’s the man who ran the exact legacy rails that crypto was invented to replace, a name that sounds like what would happen if Zcash and a German engineering manual had a child! got on a panel and said “all value will be digital and everything that can be tokenized will be tokenized because it’s too attractive not to.”

The guy from SWIFT bro. Endorsing the tokenization thesis. At a crypto conference. In Miami. Three years ago these people were sending cease and desist letters and calling Bitcoin a tool for criminals…

I know a lot of us were asking for this but it’s trippy that now they’re on the Consensus Mainstage finishing our sentences for us, where did all the cypherpunks go?

According to a recent report, the F-35 program is upgrading encryption systems with quantum-resistant cryptography to prepare for future quantum computing threats.

As the article states:

This stood out to me because discussions around quantum risk in crypto are still relatively niche, yet defense and cybersecurity sectors already appear to be preparing for long-term implications.

Separately, Lockheed Martin has a patent titled:

“Quantum Resistant Ledger for Secure Communications”

• secure communications
• distributed ledger systems
• post-quantum security architecture

One interesting detail is that the patent text references a “Quantum Resistant Ledger” approach in the context of secure communications. This could mean that quantum-resistant blockchains might have a growing demand in real world use cases in the future.

It seems notable that a major defense contractor is researching quantum-resistant architectures while much of the broader crypto space remains focused on scalability, ETFs, and regulation.

We were on the ground in Miami and today institutional lenders from Two Prime, Ledn and Lygos Finance got on stage and said the quiet part out loud, after 2022 destroyed everyone who trusted complex DeFi credit structures, institutional borrowers now want crypto lending to look exactly like TradFi.

Standardized structures, transparent custody, familiar documentation. Which is probably healthy but does raise the question of what we’re building here if the destination is just a slower JPMorgan with a token attached.

The more interesting conversation is happening off stage. A Bridge executive said Tether and Circle’s dominance is actually bad for stablecoins long term, that two companies owning the rails will make it harder for stablecoins to ever feel like actual money to normal people.

The whole point of programmable money was that nobody owned the rails and the conference floor is buzzing with chatter about it.

The amount of Aliens/UFO disclosure discussion hitting mainstream news lately feels way bigger than people realize. You’ve got government file release talk, whistleblowers, political discussion, podcasts, media coverage, and even religious figures talking about “disclosure” scenarios.

Crypto runs on attention and narrative momentum more than almost anything else. We already watched AI coins explode once mainstream discussion reached critical mass. UFOs and aliens might honestly be one of the few narratives with even bigger global attention potential because it instantly grabs people outside crypto too.

What makes it more interesting is some ETH alien-themed projects already existed years before this current wave of news. They weren’t created yesterday to farm hype some are older OG meme plays that suddenly fit a narrative now entering mainstream conversation.

I’ve already seen alien/UFO themed ETH tokens getting renewed volume and chatter every time another disclosure headline trends. If this topic keeps escalating through media and politics over the next few months, the meme potential could get massive purely from retail psychology and virality.

Feels like one of those narratives that sounds crazy at first… until everyone starts talking about it at once.

Its annoying and going to cost me some man hours but I am amazed that even in this day and age companies still adopt such a broad anti-crypto stance. I can get not wanting to promote the buying/selling of crypto tokens or actual financial services but I learned today that simply reporting on any crypto or providing information about them (my company does statistical analysis of thousands of digital assets) is enough for them to reject your business.

I had mistakenly thought the industry had matured past this kind of crass discrimination.

My boomer dad constantly sends me facebook posts about XRP. It's always something along the lines of "Trump signs executive order for XRP=$100/per token by end of the year." He then asks me if I can invest $10 for him into the coin. Wtf is with these posts? Do people seriously believe this nonsense? Is it just a meme at this point? I am concerned that he's going to get fleeced of his money some day to a bogus crypto scam. He's 67 years old and believes the earth is flat, but that's another discussion.

Ok so a lot happened this week and I don’t think people are connecting the dots fast enough. Monero is up a bunch. Zcash up a lot a lot in 2025. Dash up a decent amount in seven days. The privacy trade is not a JUST narrative anymore.

We’re on the ground at Consensus 2026 in Miami right now and the vibe is different from anything I’ve seen at this conference in years.

Executives from Ondo, Robinhood and Babylon Labs all said the same thing from the main stage… banks are ready to build onchain, institutional adoption is happening, and the missing constraint is no longer regulatory permission. It’s getting normal everyday people to actually care about any of this. According to many of them, privacy infrastructure completes the stack.

That sentence came out of the mouths of people in suits at a conference center in Miami and nobody in the room flinched.

Oh boy.. this starts to sound sus when you turn around to look at the SEC. Paul Atkins said this week that you can build systems where a regulated platform demonstrates its users have been screened without retaining a permanent person-by-person map of every payment trade or donation.

BTC hit $81K on May 5, highest since January. Spot BTC ETF inflows in April were $2.44B, strongest month since October last year. Whales bought around 270,000 BTC in the past 30 days and exchange reserves dropped to a 7 year low. On paper everything looks great.

But BTC dominance is at 60.7% and alts just sitting there. ETH, XRP, SOL derivatives activity over the past 24hs pretty quiet. The altcoin season index on CoinMarketCap is at 41/100, and you need 75 to actually alt season. So we're not even close.

All the new money is going straight into BTC. Thats makes sense. Institutions are buying ETFs not random alts.Then whether BTC can close above the 200d moving average over $82k. It hasn't closed for the last 7 months. If it breaks through in May that's basically the first real trend reversal signal this year, and that's when money actually starts rotating into alts.

I've been watching funding rates and spot volume on bydfi and coinbase for a few major alts and there's really no sign of money moving into alts yet. Until BTC dominance starts rolling over alts are gonna have a hard time putting together any real sustained move.

What's the play for you guys? Waiting for the rotation or just going all in on BTC? And if you're already holding alts which ones are you in?

I was on the ground at Consensus 2022 running community operations and I think about it sometimes when I read about what these conferences have become. That year we had an Easter egg hunt across the venue floor, crypto themed arcade games, a machine that physically inscribed your NFT on site while you watched even vending machines to win up to 1 BTC

People were genuinely excited to be in the same room as each other. The bear market hadn’t fully landed yet and there was this feeling that everything was about to change in a way that was going to be good. The energy was real in a way that’s hard to describe if you weren’t there.

Consensus 2026 is in Miami this week and the headline story from the first day is that Bitcoin is at $82k, the highest since January, ETF inflows hit $1.97 billion in April, tokenized real world assets tripled to $19 billion in Q1, and the main stage news is Pi Network talking about AI utility narratives.

Which is fine. That’s progress of a kind. But I keep thinking about that NFT inscription machine and the Easter egg hunt and the arcade games and the specific feeling of a community that was building something it genuinely believed in and hadn’t yet spent three years watching it get turned into a financial product.

Consensus used to feel like a festival. Now it feels like an investor conference that remembered to invite the developers.

I don’t know if that’s growth or loss. Probably both. The space got what it wanted and is still figuring out whether it wanted the right thing.

The Lazarus Group's attack on the Kelp platform may have generated additional profits for North Korean hackers by shorting the AAVE token. Five days after the launch of the V4 protocol with its new 'hub-and-spoke' architecture, the attackers timed the deposit of 89,567 'non-existent' rsETH into the Aave death contract.

This triggered a five-day rally in AAVE, which ended with the Kelp hack. This allowed the hackers to earn a 26% profit on their short position. The Lazarus Group had previously employed a similar strategy with the Ronin bridge, where the hack was accompanied by short positions on AXS and RON in anticipation that the news would cause the price to crash.

In that case, however, Ronin validators remained unaware for a week that $600 million had been stolen, and the hackers’ short positions were closed via margin calls. In contrast, news of the AAVE hack became public instantly, sending prices plummeting to yearly lows.

The resulting crisis of user confidence led to an outflow of liquidity from the platform. DeFiLlama data shows a loss of $6.6 billion in TVL. According to Cryptomus analysts, investors are continuing to sell AAVE tokens and the inflow of coins to exchanges is growing.

Hi, a few months ago i uploaded my face to a very popular “looksmaxxing” forum (very stupid i know) used to help people improve their looks, but i asked the mods to delete my pic because the people on that forum are assholes and racist and i dont wanna be affiliated with that site. The mod wanted payment in bitcoin to delete my post and after thinking about it, i did it cause i really didnt want my face to be associated with racist people on that site even tho it’s probably not a big deal cause im not an asshole and i dont say bad things. I paid, he deleted the pic, but im worried about something. This was my first time ever using crypto, so now im worried what if that guy used his crypto wallet for something illegal like maybe fraud and i just paid him? Can i get in trouble for paying someone who uses their crypto wallet for illegal things even tho i just wanted my face removed from a forum? Thanks

Hey everyone, I’m beyond frustrated. I made a Litecoin (LTC) deposit to Crypto.com hours ago.

• Transaction Status: Currently at 20+ confirmations on the blockchain.
• The Problem: Crypto.com requires 12 confirmations. I have surpassed that by a mile, yet the funds are nowhere to be seen.

The "Support" Experience: I contacted support to ask for a technical reason for the delay. Instead of help, the "Support Specialist" told me to "kindly stop spamming the chat" and kept repeating the same "no worries, just wait" script.

I have provided the TXID and proof that the blockchain work is done, but they refuse to escalate the issue or admit there’s a technical glitch on their end.

Has anyone else experienced this recently? It’s one thing to have a technical delay, but it’s another to have support lie to you and accuse you of spamming when you're asking for the funds you've legally sent.

Aside from Gnosis (since this is the best one I've been able to find which is REAL self-custodial and not just advertised as that), what are currently the best crypto cards which allow you to export your wallet keys and where the funds stay on-chain (your wallet) until the moment of transaction? I ask this because I have been blackpilled the hard way on custodial wallets, I've used KAST and reddotpay for nearly 2 years and they both have frozen my accounts in these 2 years, I've lost around 5K in frozen funds and they are being a pain in the ass with their customer support. I'm done with centralized shit, now since at least a few months I've been using Gnosis (what a godsend), my funds always stay on-chain and I control it. No way of freezing my funds. It's perfect, except for the fact that in order to get funds on your card you need to bridge it, it's kind of an effort.

I'm wondering, are there any other good REAL self custodial cards like Gnosis out there without the need for bridging?

I’ve been looking into Ethereum staking and it’s way more complicated than it should be. I've found out that Solo staking needs 32 ETH and the unstaking delay is taking lifetime.

Using Coinbase or Binance is easier but you give up custody, which defeats the whole purpose. Just like many trusted FTX/BlockFi in the last years.

I’m looking for a non-custodial option that is liquid, something I can exit instantly while still earning, The staking yields are good enough that ignoring it feels wrong. What are you guys using please?

Sometimes all is smooth sailing. We'll see a steady 1-2% growth each month or two.

Things are good, they're not fantastic, but they're good.

Other times we'll be travelling through storms. We'll see a sudden drop of 40% over a single month.

Then we'll see the crazy times, it looks like the growth will never slow down.

Maybe you're 25% up this month.

Then your shit coins start rising.

Shitty-insertcelebnamehere-coin blows up and you turn a $10 gamble into $200 in a week.

The next week it goes to zero.

But it's just the way things go. It's no different from the stock market, the swings are just more extreme.

If you can't stomach a 40% drop, or even a total loss, maybe you're overinvested and should invest more into boomer rocks (gold) and investments (stocks and shares).

-Just kidding on the last bit, most of my assets are in tradfi. Around 5-10% in crypto.

the secretary of defense literally confirmed the US is running classified efforts to secure Bitcoin dominance over China and called himself a “long and enthusiastic” supporter.

so the government wants Bitcoin as strategic assets while users just watch their bags get liquidated. this is what the endgame looks like. institutions fighting for Bitcoin while retail gets wiped out in the middle.

I'd like to swap a portion of my Bitcoins to USDT, I use a Trezor wallet; Trezor Suite has a built in swap feature but the rates are not great (-2.7% from the preview) and the token selection is limited.

Ideally to swap directly from my Trezor without having to move funds to a hot wallet first just to access better pricing and deeper liquidity.

and at best something that supports WalletConnect or Trezor natively so the keys never leave the device during the swap. I want to keep full custody the whole time, Is this actually possible?

Usually, Metamask swaps are convenient since it's easy to access and fast to execute but i just paid close to $75 swapping $900 of ETH to USDC. that's their insane service fee on top of gas, i didn't even notice for months.

It turns out their swap feature is just aggregating other routes with a markup baked in, you're literally paying extra for the convenience of not leaving the wallet.

There has to be a better option that's still non-custodial and shows the real all-in cost before you confirm, no KYC no wrapped tokens. what are people actually using for this?

honestly looking back at the whole "bitmex scam" framing from that era the real case was pretty specific. cftc went after them for running a derivatives platform without proper us registration and aml controls ended up settling for around $100m in 2021.

not great, obviously.

But what's kinda interesting from a few years out is how much that case ended up shaping the rest of the industry. kyc requirements that everyone takes for granted now on binance, bybit, okx got noticeably stricter in the years after. bitmex wasn't the only catalyst but the case definitely set the tone.

They implemented kyc, paid the fine, kept running. no withdrawal pause, no customer funds lost. which is more than you can say for half the exchanges that were operating in 2020 lol.

And if you compare that to the bybit 2025 case and their "North Korea" hack, how much do these incidents actually shift peoples opinions on the platform, do they even shift them at all?

I've been noticing a disturbing trend lately; more and more dApps are requiring forced registrations before you can even play. What happened to the beauty of crypto, where you could just connect your wallet and go? Now it feels like everything is shifting towards the old-school web2 model where you have to provide emails, personal info, or even worse.

My concern is that when it comes to HFT, arbitrage across exchanges through bots, or any other short-time frame strategy - institutions would mostly be able to fk us retail traders. Has anyone successfully deployed any bots on these trading platforms?

I have been successful riding the volatility for the top few cryptos, entering and exiting in tranches based on my pre-determined optimal ranges. Crypto cycles are pretty short vs other asset classes and even riding vol with some patience makes you solid $$. And you rinse and repeat. But this strategy is longer-term in the world of trading with ranges pretty wide.

But I want to deploy some additional capital and experiment with other strategies that are short-term. Wouldn't know if I could squeeze out more until I try.

Thoughts or wisdom would be appreciated!

I have many thousands of dollars in my accounts, I gave passport and I spoke to support and more, now my account is completly locked out, and I cannot withdraw or access my funds, this is insanity.

What I am asking is could someone somehow trade against the value of a locked wallet or IDK tokenize that value into something that can be bought and sold? Likely wouldn't work with any existing currency but some smart coder could invent a sort of "unlock coin" that would have a fraction of the original value but would at least be worth something. Then if the wallet is ever unlocked whoever owns that coin gets the bit coin.

Stupider things than that have been put on a blockchain. Is this just a totally stupid idea? Discussing it with you all and thinking about it some sort of a Futures Contract but a blockchain tokenized version of one might be the solution for Locked Away digital assets.

In my humble crypto degen opinion, crypto cards are still kinda underrated and I haven’t really seen anyone on reddit using more than one and actually sharing results. BUT here I am didn’t slack, been prepping for this post for 2 years… crazy to think 2 years

Been using a crypto card as my main spending card since 2023 and I've gone through 4 of them at this point Crypto.com, Coinbase, Wirex, Bybit. Each one promised some gamechanging cashback or tier system that was gonna make spending crypto better than fiat. None of them did, exactly. but some are actually decent and one wasted months of my time.

Ranking based on what actually happened, not what's on the marketing pages.

4. Wirex Card

Started here cause they had EU coverage and pitched 8% cashback. Yeah I know, 8% is the kind of number that should've made me suspicious immediately, but I was new to crypto cards and bought it. The 8% lasted about 3 months then got "restructured" and the realistic rate was more like 1-2% unless you staked thousands in their token. Support was actively bad had a stuck transaction take 9 days to resolve, with multiple "we're escalating" emails that went nowhere. The card itself worked when I swiped it. Everything around it was a mess. lost money on the WXT tokens I had to hold to get any decent rate ditched it within the year.

3. Coinbase Card

It's fine. It's a Coinbase wallet with a Visa attached, that's basically what you're getting. Cashback in BTC or stableы, no token gimmicks, transactions appear in the Coinbase app right away. Cashback rate is meh, 1-2% on most things.

if you're already a heavy Coinbase user and you're in the US, it's the obvious choice and you don't have to think about it. If you're not, there's better options.

2. Crypto.com Card

used this one through most of 2024 and I genuinely liked the product. The card is welldesigned, the app is clean, support actually responds. But the tier system is where it gets you to unlock the 5% cashback tier you need to stake $4k+ in CRO. I did what did you think? lol CRO dropped about 30% during my staking period. So technically I "earned" cashback but I lost more on the principal than I made on rewards. Not the card's fault per se but if you're considering it just understand you're making a leveraged bet on their token to get the headline cashback rate. The lower tiers (no stake required) only give you like 1% which isn't compelling vs alternatives.

1. Bybit Card

Switched late 2024 and it's been my daily card since. Cashback's in stables(spoiler turns out Euros was the most efficient option) or BTC depending on how you set it up and there's no required staking, no tier games where you have to lock up an exchange token to unlock the headline rate. standard rate's around 2% on most categories with category specific promos that actually pay out (the Vinted thing was real, I bought a bunch of stuff for my partner that quarter and the cashback hit).

KYC took about a week which was the only annoyance, but once that's done the card just works. Settles instantly, freeze/unfreeze is a tap, transaction notifications are instant. The reason it's (subjectively, for me) #1 isn't because it has the wildest cashback number on paper Crypto.com's higher tier wins on that its cause there's no asterisks. No exchange token to stake no annual fee no monthly threshold. You spend, cashback shows up, thats it.

The honest tradeoff: availability is region-dependent. US, you can't even get one Coinbase Card is your default. EU and most of Asia/LATAM you're good. Just check what's actually issued where you are before signing up cause this stuff changes.

Tldr//
if you want a crypto card that doesn't make you do gymnastics to get the rate they advertise, get the Bybit. If you're in the US, get Coinbase. Skip Wirex unless somethings changed dramatically since I used it.

Meta quietly started offering select creators the option to receive payouts in USDC this week and I genuinely don’t understand why this isn’t getting more attention. This is Meta.

A creator monetization infrastructure that pays out to millions of people globally. They just plugged stablecoin rails into that system

X meanwhile has been building X Money, an in-house payments product with a rumored 6% APY on deposits, a Visa debit card, and a stablecoin that Elizabeth Warren sent a formal letter about because Elon Musk helped write the legislation governing it while also dismantling the regulator that would police it. Meta is plugging into existing crypto infrastructure while X is trying to become the infrastructure.

The thing that’s genuinely funny about all of this is that Crypto Twitter, the community most likely to have opinions about which approach is better, architecturally sounder, more aligned with the cypherpunk ethos, or more likely to actually bank the unbanked, lives on X. They are posting about this on a platform that is actively building a competing payments product with all the regulatory conflicts of interest you could possibly ask for

The symbolism is so dense it almost feels constructed. Bitcoin was supposed to be the conference where the new regulatory era got announced. Instead it’s a half empty room in Vegas where a congressman doesn’t know when Bitcoin was invented.

To not repeat that was said I'm bumping above thread since his disappearance wasn't talked about for years, some commenter mentioned a brain tumor, what's interesting is that dead investors then are trully the best, he grave handed $100k worth of crypto that back then was worth less than $10k, in the next 10 years he'll probably become post mortem millionaire.

TL;DR

Client's seed phrase got auto-translated from English to Czech by the Edge browser, when displayed by the MetaMask browser extension. It was not that easy to reverse this auto-translation and recover the original English seed phrase that allowed recovery. Read below for the details.

Long version

A Client contacted us for a recovery, after they lost access to their BSC account (which contained a sizeable amount of USDT and USDC tokens) even though they had their seed phrase (they provided a photo of MetaMask displaying the seed phrase). Client first contacted Metamask support but got no help from them.

Client was using Windows 11 configured in Czech language, and installed MetaMask on their Edge browser. Their recovery seed phrase (aka SRP = Secret Recovery Phrase) displayed by MetaMask was indeed formed of 12 Czech words, as we could see on the photo they took. In general taking a photo or screenshot of the seed phrase words is not advised, but in that case, it was helpful. See their Metamask screenshot .

After resetting / reinstalling their browser, they needed to restore access to their BSC wallet. But their seed phrase (formed of Czech words they took the photo of) was invalid.

The BIP39 standard does indeed have a 2048-word word list in Czech language, but many of the Czech words our Client had were not in the BIP39 Czech word-list. Also, strangely, some words in Client's seed phrase displayed by MetaMask were capitalized, and some were not.

We concluded that most likely, MetaMask displayed the seed phrase as 12 English words, that were somehow auto-translated by Edge browser, which translated in Czech any webpage using another language. In that case, the MetaMask SRP page with English BIP39 words was translated by Edge in Czech.

So, for each Czech word we had, we looked at what was the most likely English words before the automatic translation happened. To get the candidate English words, we reversed-translated the Czech words to English, and to used AI to help figure what English words were the most likely candidates, to reduce the number of possible combinations.

Some words like "voda" had a single likely candidate ("water"), but some other words like "náboj" had many possible candidate, like ("charge", "cartridge", "load", "nave", "round", "shell", "bullet", "potential", "hub", "bush", "punch", "impact", "momentum"). Same with "vĕc", we got many candidates ("thing", "object", "item", "article", "matter", "subject", "issue", "point", "business", "fact", "case", "cause", "stuff", "affair", "concern").

We then used brute-force to test programmatically the several thousands of combinations (after eliminating the English words not in the BIP39 word-list, and then eliminating the seed phrases that had an invalid checksum), to check is any valid seed phrase lead to the account address that Client provided. No luck!

Then, we decided to not eliminate phrases with an invalid checksum, but rather to do a brute-force search on each 12-word candidate phrase assuming that one of the 12 words (at unknown position) was incorrect (i.e. we tried the 2048 words at each of the 12 positions). We ran this on each of the 12-word combinations formed by the translation candidates.

This brute-force search rapidly found the correct seed phrase! Recovery was successful.

The BIP39 English word that got translated by Edge to "náboj" was "surge", which was not in any English candidates that the AI and translators suggested to us for "náboj".

The conclusion is that it is very problematic when a browser auto-translates the seed words that are displayed by MetaMask (or any other wallet app for that matter). In this case, we were lucky that only one word was not among the candidate English words that we gathered using AI and translators.

We believe that MetaMask (and all other browser extensions and browser wallets) should add meta-tags to instruct browsers that the SRP / seed phrase words should not auto-translated (even if not all browsers respect those meta-tags). Here is an example, with the BIP39 word "surge" that should not be auto-translated:

Here's the summary of these hacks:

• Kelp Dao, Drift Protocol, Grinex, Rhea Finance, Wasabi, Volo Protocol, Purrland, CoW Swap, Aethir, Silo Finance, and Scallop were the largest platforms to be hacked.
• A total of $805 million was lost in the attacks.
• Common attacks method included social engineering, compromised keys, fake pools, domain hijacking, and multiwallet bugs.
• North Korea-backed hackers, specifically the Lazarus Group, were a prime suspect behind all these attacks.

So I've been using Strike to buy BTC for the past months and I absolutely love it. But I now have the need for a platform which allows me to convert BTC to USDT and vice versa, as well as having a good connection with my Blockstream Jade wallet for both assets.

Ive talked to a friend of mine who rugpulls shitcoins and make lot of money of that is this considered illegal or just a bad way of getting money out of people ? I always thought this was illegal but i searched a bit and seems like its completely legal for people to so so and i dont understand how it would be totally legal as you are litteraly stripping people of they investment into your shitcoin. Hi there, so years ago I was active on XYO network, but since 3-4 years I’m not doing anything with it. Now comes the weird part. Right now I received 3$ in ETH and shortly after, all my xyo token and the ETH got transferred to another unknown wallet. The weird part: ONLY XYO! all other coins which were on my wallet are still there untouched. I mean, it was only 40$ in xyo but I had over 400$ in BNB and much more bitcoin on that wallet. I didn’t register at anything (except Xyo some years ago) everywhere im registered is 2fa locked. Anybody know what happens here? I checked the wallet of the scammer and it’s packed with ETH all doing the same transactions to different wallets.

One thing I keep noticing is that a lot of crypto payment gateway options either require full KYC or promote themselves as crypto payment gateway no KYC solutions. I understand the appeal of avoiding heavy verification, especially for privacy and faster onboarding, but it also feels like it might come with risks. I am not sure how that affects long-term reliability or compliance, depending on where you are operating from.

Has anyone here used a crypto payment gateway without KYC for their business? Did it cause any issues later on, like limitations, trust problems with customers, or even access to funds? I’m trying to weigh convenience versus security before committing to anything.

the CFTC deployed AI to review crypto registrations after losing 20% of staff. yo thats not progress, thats desperation. the agency overseeing crypto derivatives is now letting algorithms decide approvals while polymarket launches, aave runs $300M recovery, and layerzero pledges $23M. DeFi’s bleeding and the regulator watching it is just leaving everything up to AI slop.

the agency responsible for overseeing the biggest derivative markets in crypto is now using machine learning to decide which protocols get approved. machine learning that probably has the same biases as whoever trained it. machine learning that nobody audited because the CFTC doesn’t have budget for anything.

I recently had a Crypto IRA with Alto. They had the least amount of fees and some of the best customer service, and I just wanted to used it as a tax free IRA savings account.

Started it back in late 2023, no issues at all. Fast forward to the last few months, now it looks like Alto got bought by Public. Ok, heard of Public as a a stock company mostly, but waiting to see what they offer once everything is up and running.

Got it today, went straight to the fee structure. Transaction fees a bit high, but expected that. Go down lower, a Crypto IRA Custodial Fee? 0.05% per month based on the daily balance of your Crypto IRA, less any transaction fees paid in connection with Crypto IRA transactions in that month???

Never had that in Alto, in fact that's one of thr reasons I chose that one, as it was like my Crypto retirement savings account, never did any trading in it. Now tho, if I just do what I have been doing I'm going to have to still pay a month maintenence fee just for the privilege which rankles with me.

So Im looking now for what my tax free options may be for storing Crypto. I looked into both Bitcoin IRA and Equity Trust way back when I was setting this up, think transaction fees were a bit high for me then which is why I went with Alto. If they dont have a monthly fee I may be interested now.

Does anyone have any personal experience with any crypto IRA companies? Could always AI it, and if it comes down to semantics may ask it, but looking for more human experiences first

Mostly trade alts on perps with some spot, been on Bybit since early 2025 after Kucoin's regional restrictions got annoying. 14 months in, figured I'd share what stuck and what didn't.

What's kept me here: I rarely miss new listings anymore. Last memecoin I wanted to grab was tradeable on Bybit within an hour of TGE, same coin took Binance three days to list a working pair.
Mobile app holds up most of the time when I'm closing positions one handed on the subway was a clear upgrade from my old setup which crashed weekly. Tried copy trading with small money just to study how proper entries look, ended up learning more from it than I expected to.

What's annoyed me: they keep bolting stuff on. Launchpool, AI assistants, tokenized stocks, loyalty points, whatever. The home screen looks like a Vegas casino now. Earn APYs are the worst offender clicked on a 12% USDt banner once, turned out to be capped at like $100 for a week. Felt like a bait-and-switch even though the fine print covered it.

Got stopped out during the March chop because of a websocket disconnect, $80 down the drain. Hasn't happened since but I'm still mad about it.

For active alt trading? yeah this works.
For monthly BTC DCA? youre paying for complexity you don't need.

A certain guy who goes live online with the name ****thebuilder got permanently banned from Kick for extremely toxic behavior. Within 24 hours he was streaming on the pump fun with a token named after himself, launched a memecoin, and claims bigger earnings than his full Kick career ( if you can even call what he’s doing a career )this is also happening amidst the already turbulent drama with multiple time rugger Ben Pasternak illustrates this pattern in the space.

Permissionless blockchains and launchpads can’t selectively ban users without losing their core neutrality, they know this… and they might not want to ban anyone anyways considering they make money off the fee structure

That cypherpunk design has protected real innovation and speech. But memecoins create direct financial incentives: audiences invest in the creator’s continued (often banned) content, turning every stream into a price event that rewards what other platforms prohibit, simultaneously allowing for these so called creators to extract from crypto

Regulators pushing for more control over “toxic” memecoins or platforms now face a harder question: how do you regulate outcomes when the architecture financially aligns creators and holders around sustained provocation? Traditional deplatforming fails here, it amplifies instead… maybe the answer is to tear the whole system down

For years, MEXC was the back door of crypto. If you couldn't KYC, because you were in the US, the UK, mainland China, Singapore, Canada, or other restricted jurisdictions, MEXC let you in anyway. A VPN, an email, and you were trading. 10 BTC a day in withdrawals, no questions asked. By some industry estimates, unverified users were a substantial share of MEXC's book. The exchange built its business on that liquidity, under a tacit "don't ask, don't tell" arrangement that worked beautifully for everyone as long as the music kept playing.

Then MEXC stopped the music. Deposits and withdrawals are now gated by KYC. The 10 BTC unverified limit is gone. For users who can't or won't verify, the very population MEXC quietly courted for years, the only escape is a "Withdrawal Appeal Form" more invasive than the KYC it replaces. A classic bait-and-switch.

This is a betrayal. And the form is a privacy disaster waiting to happen.

The Implicit Deal They Just Broke

Exchanges have the right to change policies. There's a right way to off-ramping users who can’t/don’t want to KYC, and there's MEXC's way.

The right way is what Binance did in 2021: public announcement, phased multi-week window, non-KYC accounts switched to withdraw-only mode. No appeal form, no facial video, no hostage situation. Bitget did the same thing later. This is the standard playbook.

MEXC tore it up. No public timeline, no grandfathered withdraw-only window, no clean exit. Funds deposited under the old rules are now gated behind the new rules, and the only "remediation" is a process designed to make you surrender more personal data than full KYC would have demanded.

The cruelest part is what this does to the users MEXC most aggressively cultivated. A US, UK, Chinese, or Singaporean resident who deposited via VPN now faces two options: walk away, or file the appeal.

What the Form Actually Costs You

Here's what the appeal collects: a government ID, front and back. A live video of the user holding the ID alongside a piece of paper with their full name, ID number, MEXC account UID, and submission date. The face must be visible and unobstructed.

This is more revealing than ordinary KYC because of who fills it out. Ordinary KYC catches everyone: the $50 user, the $500,000 user, all in one bucket. The appeal is self-selecting: only users with enough money to bother filming themselves go through it. If the data leaks, it's a curated list of MEXC users with non-trivial balances, faces and IDs bundled together.

If you think this is paranoia, look at the recent record. The 2020 Ledger leak, names and addresses of 270,000 hardware wallet customers, is still being weaponized in 2026, having seeded six years of phishing campaigns and physical attacks. In May 2025, Coinbase disclosed that bribed contractors leaked KYC data on tens of thousands of users; the resulting social engineering wave cost users tens of millions directly and contributed to the year's spike in physical "wrench attacks." Jameson Lopp's database documented roughly 70 such attacks in 2025, nearly double 2024's count. A US home-invasion ring led by Gilbert St. Felix used leaked exchange KYC data to identify victims before resorting to torture and finger amputation to extract seed phrases.

A MEXC appeal-form leak would be qualitatively worse. Ledger's leak gave attackers names and addresses. Coinbase's gave them KYC details. The MEXC appeal form, leaked, would give all of that plus a clear video of the victim's face and, by implication of having submitted the appeal, confirmation that the victim has a balance worth filing for. Face for recognition or deepfake/ID theft. Home address from the ID. That's a doxx kit specifically curated to identify wealthy crypto holders, exactly the population physical attackers are now actively hunting.

For users in restricted jurisdictions, there's a second layer. The form is its own paper trail to the IRS, FinCEN, HMRC, or whichever local authority. If MEXC ever settles with a regulator the way Binance did with the DOJ, that data goes with the settlement. Users who filed the appeal trying to get out of MEXC will have given MEXC the documentation to hand them to their home government on the way out the door.

What has MEXC said about how this data is stored, encrypted, retained, or destroyed? Nothing of substance. No published audit of the appeal flow, no retention schedule, no breach-notification commitment. MEXC's $100M Guardian Fund covers trading-asset losses, not PII breaches. The Seychelles registration with operations in Dubai puts legal recourse for any future leak somewhere between "limited" and "none." If this data leaks, the affected users are screwed.

What Should Happen and What You Should Do Now

The fix isn't complicated. MEXC should immediately offer a grandfathered withdraw-only window for any account that existed before the policy change. That's the playbook every other major exchange has used in similar transitions. It satisfies any compliance regime the appeal form would. It protects users from leak risk. It generates orders of magnitude less PR damage. There is no defensible reason it isn't already in place.

MEXC built itself on the trust of users who specifically wanted to avoid centralized data hoards. It's now demanding deeper data submission from those exact users drawn to its honeypot and offering nothing in the way of security commitments in return. That isn't compliance. That's predation in a compliance costume.

If you're affected, be loud. Their calculation depends on you swallowing the loss quietly or filling out the form quietly. Don't.

EDIT: Interesting set of comments after I posted this. There is a coordinated effort, likely by MEXC employees, to change the narrative of this post and manipulate the votes. They are intentionally trying to suppress the fact that MEXC is sacrificing its users to save its own hide in the face of SEC prosecution, and that MEXC is doing it in a reckless manner that puts user safety in jeopardy at a time when wrench attacks against crypto owners are on the rise. Don't let MEXC get away with this. Spread the word!

I wanted a small position in tokenized gold for diversification but the swap in felt expensive (-3% slippage on cowswap) and I received even less than expected so I ended up getting less exposure than planned.

Tokenized Gold in crypto currently has a lot of Hype, I mean it should be straightforward but the entry point always eats into the position right away with fees slippage and sometimes extra steps that make it feel heavier than it should.

It sounds simple on paper but in practice it still feels messy. How do you buy tokenized gold (PAXG/XAUT) without getting insane slippage?

Maybe I’m looking way too deeply at the whole thing but considering Iran and the US is at war with each other, it seems only stupid for Iran to try to utilize tether for anything at all. Especially trying to use tether as the medium in which they collect fees for the straight of Hormuz. Are they really that ignorant? Just a simple oversight? Or is this intentional and there’s another part of the story that im missing.

For those who haven’t heard, Iran was collecting bitcoin and tether for the straight of Hormuz tolls, tether is centralized, and tether froze all of irans crypto wallets within the last 24 hours.

Maybe there’s something obvious I overlooked but I just don’t buy that Iran on its face would be that stupid.

Hey guys, I have been out of the crypto scene for a while, but upon visiting this sub again it seems sentiments have changed drastically. I invested a small amount in crypto in 2018 and kind of just left it before it multiplied in 2021 (still not too much money, but a win is a win). I’m not much of a risk taker, so while my friends got into the boom after that and started leverage trading I decided to hold a bit of all the large cap coins for the long run. I bought large amounts of bitcoin, eth and bnb, and put bits in ADA, SOL, LINK, POL, DOT, ATOM, AVAX, FTX and LUNA. I started researching them to get an understanding of what they were doing and remember, while they had their detractors, there was a lot of hype around all of them. I witnessed the FTX and LUNA crashes and then kind of just left my bucks and focused on other stuff. Coming back it seems that bitcoin and to some degree ethereum and maybe BnB are the only ones that still have any positive sentiment, and the rest of these favorites are now being bashed left, right and centre. I know alt season was a let down and there were some major liquidations and hacks but did anything else happen to cause this? Institutionalisation? Feels like the ecosystem buildup and all of that is not really something people are concerned about as much anymore. I don’t have much skin in the game, so just asking out of genuine curiosity.

hi, firstly looking for honest input here rather than the usual "all CEXs bad" comments.

i've been on coinbase since february buying small DCA amounts into btc and eth. thinking about switching or at least adding bybit because the fees on coinbase are killing my stack and a few friends recommended it.

read the last 3 months of posts about exchange safety, still have specific questions that i couldn't find clean answers to. so:

1. is it actually safe for someone who isn't going to trade futures or anything fancy?

from what i gathered yes, they have the same basic security stack as the big ones. 2FA (google authenticator, not SMS which apparently i should avoid), withdrawal address whitelist, anti-phishing code you set that shows up in real emails from them. i turned all of this on during signup. took me maybe 15 minutes.

1. how worried should i be about the hack from last year?

saw a post here a week ago where someone said basically "every CEX gets hit eventually, what matters is whether they cover users" and that reframe stuck with me.

apparently bybit did cover everyone and withdrawals never stopped. which is more than i can say for some platforms i read about during my research.

Been exploring crypto arbitrage lately, and it feels like it’s less about finding price gaps and more about how fast you can actually act on them. Bots and tools seem to help with speed and automation, but fees, slippage, and execution delays still make things tricky in real conditions.

From what I have seen, most profits are pretty small per trade, so it’s more about consistency and stacking small gains rather than expecting big wins. Also feels like competition has increased a lot, so opportunities don’t last long.

GSR, which is to say one of the oldest and most sophistocated market making operations in digital assets, a firm that hath spent the better part of a decade knowing exactly what price things are about to be before thou dost, hath graciously decided to package Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana into an actively managed ETF called BESO so that the common investor may gain exposure to the very assets GSR hath been trading around with considerably more information and considerably less latency than thou wilt ever possess.

This is called democratization. I am told it is a positive development.

The “активно управляемый” is where it gets truly poetic. For an index fund simply holds the assets and charges thee a small fee for the privilege of not thinking too hard. An actively managed fund holds the assets, charges thee a larger fee, and also makes decisions on thy behalf using the same market intelligence that a firm like GSR has spent years and considerable resources accumulating.

Nobody could’ve anticipated knowledge would belong entirely to fund managers and the interest would be paid entirely by us.

Korea used to have a pretty strong base of crypto builders. But ever since the Terra-Luna collapse, they’ve kind of disappeared from view. It’s not that they stopped building, more that they’ve started hiding where they’re from.

Seeing the same pattern over and over: Founders set up companies in places like Singapore or Dubai, build teams from all over, and structure things so it’s not obvious the project is Korean.

It’s easy to blame the global hit to trust after Terra-Luna. But the more interesting part is what’s happening domestically. Korean investors themselves became some of the most skeptical toward Korean projects. So now you’ve got this weird situation where one of the biggest crypto markets in the world (~11 million verified users, ~21% of the population) is actually really hard for Korean teams to break into.

It doesn’t seem to get better. A lot of devs who used to work in Web3 are starting to move toward AI, especially AI agents and on-chain AI infrastructure. So the pool of builders are now actually shrinking.

On top of that, there’s a sense of fatigue setting in. Years of recycled ideas and projects that never really delivered have worn people down. The users who stuck around through multiple cycles just aren’t responding to the same old playbooks anymore.

So Korean builders are in a tough spot. Globally, there’s still some lingering skepticism toward Korean projects. Domestically, investors are tired of being burned. It leaves them caught in the middle, trying to build in a market that doesn’t fully trust them anywhere.

yo so kevin oleary literally exited his entire altcoin portfolio and moved 90% into bitcoin and ethereum and everyone’s acting like this is some random thing that’s an L, its not random yo. this guy makes money off attention and he just signaled something with his portfolio that matters.

his reasoning was simple: scale and survivability. yo thats it. not narrative, not hype, not which chain is gonna moon first. he looked at what actually survives and goes all in on the two names that don’t need venture funding to exist thats a shift man.

the institutional game right now is insane. institutions absorbed 19,000 bitcoin in eight days against 2,100 produced by miners, meaning they absorbed nine times the new supply real structural demand timing. when kevin o’leary sees that happening he doesn’t waste time on altcoins anymore because the game is already decided.

he’s abandoning alts because bitcoin and ethereum have superior scale and survivability . yo thats investor speak for “everything else is going to get liquidated when sentiment shifts and i don’t want to be holding that bag.” he watched DeFi bleed all month.

watched the hacks pile up. watched protocols die. and decided the only safe place is the stuff that’s been around since 2011 and 2015.

the fed decides tomorrow. if rates hold bitcoin probably breaks $80k easy with institutional demand still absorbing everything. if they cut rates earlier than expected we probably dump. but kevin already made his decision before any of that. yo he doesn’t care about the fed. he cares about what survives the next bear market. and apparently only two things do.

everyone else still chasing altcoins is basically gambling. kevin o’leary is positioning for the next five years. thats the difference between being rich and being lucky

I've been tracking the new Qubic Doge pool since the April 1 launch. posting because the on-chain data is all publicly verifiable, and I'm curious what other people make of it.

live stats from doge-stats.qubic.org at time of posting: Hashrate: 6.46 TH/s, blocks found: 49, pool share: 0.224 %, active computers: 292, solutions accepted this epoch: 563,044

Compared to early projections, hashrate growth has been steady. What's more interesting to me is whether this represents real traction or just initial curiosity from existing qubic operators trying the new option.

Is anyone else watching the actual network data? What metrics would you want to see at the two-week mark to judge whether a new pool is gaining traction vs just attracting initial experimentation?
